We’ve learned the firefighter who lost his life battling this blaze is Charles Morton, a squad boss for the Big Bear Hotshot Crew.  May his family and friends find peace in knowing “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  Without knowing him personally, it’s safe to say that as users of this wilderness we were all his friends.
