Hi, all! I will be taking the Aspen Grove trail to Fish Creek camp next week, and am wondering about water along the trail for the dog 🙂 Are there any places where she can get a drink along the way? I’d rather not have to carry water for her, too!
A drink along the way? Oh yeah! As of Saturday the 6th–Fish Creek and its feeder tribs were still running strong and clear. The Aspen Creek trail has multiple creek-crossings en route to the Fish Creek Trail junction (first one right at the start is the widest and deepest, bridged with a log, some packed branches and a couple rocks asking one to pay attention; hiking poles could be quite useful here). Another creek crossing after the junction. Then once you get to Fish Creek Camp there’s a couple water sources reported adjacent to the camp (see Mike H’s and Hikin’ Jim’s related TRs). Shouldn’t be any need to carry additional water for your hiking partner, at least for duration of June!
