the access road was untouched when i arrived in the morning, but was packed down and slick by the time i got back to the truck in the afternoon. helped yank a high-centered small suv off a boulder on the way out. probably still high clearance or 4wd only today.
seems to be staying cold, so snow was still powdery late in the day. on steep slopes and in valleys knee-deep drifts on the trail were standard, and snowshoes were pretty useless. trail to johns meadow is easier, with no really deep drifts. i broke the trail to just before forsee creek, but that could all be drifted over again today.
