Hiked May 29th 2020: The last mileage to the top which is north facing is still covered in patches of soft snow that covers 80% of the trail along the steep fall line. Best use micro spikes for traction, boots to kick steps and snow baskets on your poles. Otherwise your going to really get a work out or hurt an ankle. Snow is too soft for crampons n maybe overkill. Yes at the TH and looking at trail you’d think no more snow but that’s not the case. However this post is now a week old. Many hikers going up without but most young n motivated. I saw others turn back!!
