I have a permit for Saxton Camp this coming Friday, Oct 27.  What are the water conditions are the camp?  I see that there appears to be water crossing over a stream on the way down Falls Creek Trail (before Saxton).  Is the water near shown near Saxton still there?  Or is it dry?

I’d also appreciate any information about waiter on Momyer Trail, as I will be heading down that from San Bernardino Peak on Saturday.

      Thanks.

The Saxton Camp should have some water in the stream that the trail crosses near the camp.

If I understand correctly it seems you will be going from Saxton Camp to San Bernardino Peak which there might be some water still at Trail Fork Springs because there is no water anywhere else if you are going down the SB East Peak trail to Momyer.

The SB East Peak trail to Momyer is now a trace trail with a lot of down trees near the Momyer junction.

The SGWA trail crew is scheduled on 11/11/17 to try to remove as many trees as possible on that section of trail.

Hope you have a good trip and remember to bring extra water.

Thanks for the information.  There was still a decent amount of water flowing at the stream just south of Saxton Camp.

I modified my trip so that I came down Falls Creek Trail instead of trying to get to San Bernardino Peak.  I was able to fill up at both Saxton and Alger Creek on my way down.

      Thanks again!

      Jim
