Following up on other posts about history of human activity in the Wilderness I meant to ask if anyone knows about the grid staked out in the Tarn. Then on Sunday I learned the date when my son and I stumbled on this old dead tree and he noticed the rebar and tag. Pics to follow. Apparently this was done post Wilderness Act. Anyone know what they were doing?
