Testing the forum
So, posting of photos is working?
It works with remotely-hosted photos, like those on Flickr or other hosting services.
Get the direct link to the photo itself (not the page it’s on) and copy it to your clipboard. Then click the “img” button in the reply editor. A tiny window pops up and you paste your link. Say OK and you end up with something like this in the editor:
<img src="https://c7.staticflickr.com/9/8759/28172773702_39cec2bea8_c.jpg" alt="" />
At the moment, I see no way to preview your post, so you’ll just have to pray that it works. Although I believe that there is an edit option after you post.
San Gorgonio and the nine peaks from the PCT north of Big Bear Lake, Memorial Day Weekend 2016. Yes, there was still snow up there…
So now I’ve got one for you: How did you get your avatar photo uploaded? I didn’t find anyplace to add one. Thanks!
It took a little bit of exploration, clicking around WordPress. Eventually, I discovered I had to register with Gravatar, which is a global avatar site used by WordPress. Once I registered and uploaded a photo, my avatar appeared on the SGWA Forum.
We’ve installed a feature to allow images to be posted from your PC or phone; you won’t need to have it posted someplace like Flickr anymore. I’ve tested it with Firefox, Chrome, and Edge plus iPhone; if you have any troubles with it let me know.
Cindi, thanks for adding the insert imageĀ button!
