It has been said that the worst part is to Vivian Creek, no one on my party agrees, High Creek to Summit was a bit more challenging, however that may have been due to the higher temps that day. Once you reach the Dollar Lake trail intersection the rest is a piece of cake until you head back. One hint, don’t look up to the left at the (about) 1200′ rise as you are walking to the trail along the washout from the parking lot!!
One mountain was spotted on the portion near Ridge Viewpoint and a bear cub on the way down near Vivian Creek Camp, neither posed a problem. The view were fabulous on this day.
There is good enough water flow at Vivian Creek and High Creek to fill water. High Creek is more limited and both may be best after filtering although we found it perfectly fine with just UV decontamination.
