Hiked Vivian to San G yesterday. Plenty of water in Vivian Creek and in High Creek. The spring up behind the log at Half-Way is dry though. No snow or ice on the trail.
When you checked for water in the creek behind the log before Halfway camp, did you go about 1/8 mile up the creek where there is usually water.
How far up the dry creek did you looked or listen for the water dripping?
I walked up the use trail maybe 50 yards where it comes to the creek. This is usually where I’ve found water before. 1/8 of a mile is 220 yards. I didn’t go that far.
The water has been further up that trace trail the last couple of years. It was there 2 years ago for most the summer even though it was a mild winter that year.
It can be quite bushy in the dry creek so you have to listen for it to find it.
