since the burn restrictions have eased, is the cross country areas between open trails now allowed to be accessed?

for example, since forsee and south fork are now open, can you do the alto diablo xc route (the nw ridge)?

      also, is bighorn open now?

There hasn’t been any new update on what areas are still closed except for the trails and camps available for wilderness permits. You would probably have a hard time getting a permit to XC. Inspite of the area being open, it isn’t recommended to go off trail in the areas that have burned because there can be many obstacles like root holes, burnt standing trees and burnt down trees, etc. Also if people start going off trail and need rescue then I am sure USFS won’t keep the area open (like the Big Falls area). The burnt area is very fragile with new ground cover and small tree seedlings that I am sure we would all like to continue to recover. Please enjoy what is open and be very careful.
