ParticipantThanks!! Don’t often head up in the snow since it doesn’t linger long for us, but I’ve enjoyed heading up to dry lake via snowshoeing once a year!!

ParticipantIf you want to see the full trip I put together a video for my friend and I – watcher beware – more selfies than the above photos LOL
Brittany
ParticipantThanks everyone. Glad you enjoyed the report. I couldn’t believe how much had melted in just a few short hours down at the meadow, poopout, and lower!
Brittany

ParticipantWhoop I can just picture it now! Sounds so beautiful!
I am a avid ” all but winter” hiker. Only done snow hikes a few times. I plan on going up next weekend just to snowshoe t the lake which I have done before, but I wanted to ask what you guys recommend to have that is essential for winter/snow hikes.
I will have the 10 essentials as well as my InReach and extra layers, but I am always open to more feedback and learning!

ParticipantPermit is for Vivian fortunately but unfortunately- I know it is going to be busy.
Thank you for the feedback! I was thinking the same thing and then just take my time hiking lol- thats never a bad thing

ParticipantVivian Creek – Hey everyone-
camping at summit n Sunday night- Am I crazy to show up to the parking lot around 10-12 in the morning on Sunday?? I saw the SAR post on facebook with the overflow at moymer. I figured people should be coming down around that time and leaving. Just would like some other opinions! Please and thank you!

ParticipantI know 2-3 weeks ago, I read that someone had turned around on the switch backs due to too much snow. There is water at the dry / dollar lake JCT per usual. After that I don’t have any info – sorry! I know there has been a lot of melt too.

ParticipantThank you for all this!! I ended up just heading up to the lake for the day trip this weekend, Leak peak did still look pretty snowy! Thank you for the heads up on the trail !
Brittany
ParticipantHey Chris, once you get to Fish Creek Saddle, is there a trail up to Lake Peak ?
Brittany
ParticipantThank you!
Brittany
ParticipantGot it!! Thank you again!! Congrats, I love that goal – do you have a list going of them? I would love to see it!
Brittany
ParticipantChris, Thank you for all the info! I think I will go for Lake Peak first, seems more straight forward. — I do recall reading about the cannabis last year here. I didn’t realize that was Grinnell, so thank you for the heads up – I would not want to run into that by any means! Crazy.
