Thank you so much for this, how many miles was it from fish creek? I was looking at starting at South Fork and at one of the switch backs following the ridge line up to the peak. Thank you for the heads up on the flat mountain top. Was the view worth the effort lol? I don’t think I will do this until maybe the snow melts off a bit more to be on the safe side!
Awesome thank you so much!!
Thank you for this!
Did you take the switch backs up to dry lake or the winter route still?
Well Dang!! Thanks for all your guys’ efforts! hopefully someone figures to look there!
I know what you mean, I don’t ever use reddit, I’ve only ever found myself there when reading something -ha
If you haven’t already tried. Maybe try the voice commands, “Call..” Wife, hubby, mom, dad, etc???
Mike- Thank you! That is a stunning video you found!!
I too saw the ” reply” from ranger Lon- weird
Nope, have heard or seen anything on the sky high trail, thanks for the blurb on Vivian. BF and I are thinking about doing super early AM hike up Vivian (2am)! Actually getting my gear list together now. Where did you see the recent video??
Thank you for the trail report!!
Wonderful report!! Thanks for the update!
Also, great photos, I checked out your Flickr!!
PS LOVE YOUR SUBIE!!
Mike- road was clear! Hit one small patch of ice on Jenks road when we were on or way up. Other than that it was a beautiful drive ! Thank you much, glad it was helpful!
Would love to hear a report of what conditions are like when you go up. Looking at going up on the 12th to Dry lake to go snowshoeing.
Should be good for us since the forecast is all sun until then though.
Hey there, unfortunatly we had a car break down on us the day before our trip so we didn’t get to make it up there!
Nope not those white ones, they look kinda like this
stbrnnr, thank you for this, I just located it on the ” San Gorgonio Interactive Caltopo” I have saved from someone posting it. I will pin point that on my maps I have so I know where to look if needed!
Chris, thank you for all this, going to screen shot it and take this with me. Looking at the topo this all makes perfect sense! We planned on taking that saddle to the Charltons, and Jepson looks like it will be fun hahaha…
Last question for whomever,
How would you compare Vivian Creek Trail incline versus the climb to San Bernardino peak? I can see up to Limber Pine its about 3,340′ of gain. How would this compare to hiking Vivian to High Creek which is roughly 3,080′ of gain? Pretty similar as there mileage is just about the same as well? Just overall thoughts really lol. We are going to be starting in the evening on Thursday to beat the heat. Probably starting around 6-7pm.
