Thanks for the info! Trying to decide on whether to bring snowshoes or not, last time I wore crampons about 8000ft and the shoes were dead weight. Whenever you get back an update would be great.

Thanks for the info! I am trying to decide on snowshoes or not for the ascent. Last time I was there I wore crampons about 8000 but never needed the snowshoes which were just dead weight.

I summitted a couple of weeks ago and ran into a family not even reaching high creek at 3pm when I was heading down.  They had day packs and micro spikes and didn’t know that they still had a couple of miles of hiking before the peak.  I told them that they had another 3miles to reach the summit and that if they planned on making it back before dark they might want to consider stopping at high creek and turning around.  Don’t know what they did in the end but there are definitely people going up who aren’t prepared.

I was really disappointed to see graffiti at Vivian Creek Camp next to the creek.  Also an open cat hole with toilet paper scattered everywhere.  Shameful that people are spoiling this beautiful area and there needs to be hefty fines imposed on anyone caught doing these things.
